Post–Hurricane Sandy Lead-Risk Assessments Supporting Safe Residential Recovery
Challenge
ALC conducted comprehensive lead-risk assessments in residential homes and apartment buildings following the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. By carefully evaluating interior and exterior surfaces, dust, and soil conditions, our team provided clear, actionable findings that supported safe rebuilding decisions and long-term habitability.
“In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, our priority was delivering clear, reliable assessments that homeowners and agencies could trust. By focusing on accuracy and compliance, we helped ensure rebuilding decisions were made with safety and long-term habitability in mind.”Josh Sarett
Work
This effort directly supported homeowners applying for Community Development Block Grant–Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) assistance through the NYC Build it Back Program. Our assessments helped streamline the application and approval process by supplying accurate, compliant documentation required by the program, reducing delays and uncertainty for applicants.
