Environmental Testing and Remediation Oversight for the Gateway Tunnel
Challenge
ALC’s team of exceptional, experienced staff performed asbestos and lead testing at the Gateway Tunnel, a critical transportation infrastructure project connecting New York and New Jersey. Given the scale, complexity, and public importance of the tunnel, our work required rigorous safety protocols and coordination with multiple agencies and contractors.
Work
The findings of our team’s asbestos surveys informed remediation planning and helped ensure that construction could proceed safely. During remediation, we provided oversight and air monitoring, verifying that abatement activities were performed with proper containment and waste handling. Continuous coordination with project teams helped minimize disruptions while maintaining worker safety and environmental protection.
