Discreet Asbestos Survey and Abatement for a High-Profile Manhattan Hotel

At a luxury hotel located in Manhattan, ALC Environmental conducted comprehensive asbestos surveys and managed the complete abatement process. Working within a high-profile setting required discretion and planning to ensure the safety of guests, staff, and workers.
Work
Our scope of work addressed environmental conditions across a large-scale, occupied setting, requiring careful coordination and interaction with existing tenants. ALC completed Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments as well as lead-based paint, asbestos, and mold investigations.
Impact
In response to our findings, ALC designed a sub-surface depressurization system to meet the regulatory requirements imposed by two public agencies (city and state). Our team effectively mitigated the risk of sub-surface vapor intrusion, supporting a healthier indoor environment while protecting the existing building infrastructure.
