Comprehensive Environmental Remediation for an Occupied Midtown Residential Development
Challenge
ALC Environmental was responsible for conducting lead testing and asbestos surveys at a school located in the ground-level of a large commercial building in Harlem.
Work
Based on the findings of lead and asbestos, we developed abatement strategies designed to eliminate hazards while minimizing disruption to school operations. All work was completed in full accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Air monitoring was conducted during asbestos abatement following NYC DEP regulations. Final inspections and dust wipe clearance testing were completed to confirm that lead hazards were successfully addressed and that the school environment met safety standards.
Impact
ALC has performed on multiple contracts with the NYC Department of Education and School Construction Authority as well as private, religious, and charter schools.
